THE GATHERINGS OF LAKE NONA
CHALLENGE: Our client was experienced with traditional design in the Northeast but was developing in Florida for the first time. Located in Lake Nona, a community known for its creative, innovative, and medical-focused environment, the clubhouse needed a design direction that felt appropriate for its surrounding while still aligning with the client’s expectations. The challenge was to introduce a more contemporary Florida aesthetic without moving too far from the level of sophistication and familiarity the client was comfortable with.
OUR APPROACH: We developed a design direction that bridged the two perspectives. Rather than abandoning the client’s traditional preferences, we refined them through updated forms, fresh materials, layered textures, and a more relaxed Florida palette. This created a concept that felt both familiar and distinctly suited to its Lake Nona location.
